QA Analyst

The Opportunity Education Quest Forward platform provides learners with personalized learning pathways to develop the skills and knowledge they will need in life. Quest Forward consists of a methodology for learning, curriculum, and applications to support it. The QA Analyst conducts testing and quality assurance efforts for Platform applications and ensures that software released by the product team meets the highest standards of stability and usability.

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a relevant field

  • 2+ years of testing and quality assurance experience

  • Excellent manual testing skills for exploratory and functional testing requirements

  • Strong proficiency with typical software development tools, including Trello, G Suite tools, Zendesk, Wikis, Android OS, multiple browsers (Chrome, Safari, Firefox) as well as understanding of test automation platforms.

  • Strong proficiency with agile software development methodologies.

Must be located in the USA, with a strong preference for Raleigh/Durham, NC.


The QA Analyst is responsible for the following activities and outcomes:

  • Review/analyze requirements, designs and specifications and provide appropriate feedback, from the QA perspective, to the Lead QA Engineer and Product Team (Product Manager, Design, and/or Engineering), to reflect QA priorities and needs.

  • Develop thorough test plans for all Quest Forward apps and the Quest Forward platform backend, both for general regression testing and for specific releases

  • Conduct testing activities and provide thorough, structured feedback to the engineers for issues that require resolution

  • Identify, record, document thoroughly and track bugs

  • Communicate issues to the Lead QA Engineer and Product Manager, as necessary

  • Verify resolution of found issues

  • Provide second-line support to the Product Support Specialist, as necessary

The QA Analyst reports to the Director, Product Management.
